Photographs I took on our Maine vacation Shoshana uploaded her photos to her Facebook photo album. You can also see my photos on my virb content aggregator.

I've been trying to remember on which other websites I've used my old FB password and have been changing those that I do recall. I was going to write another examiner.com article but that has been preempted. I suspect most Matisyahu fans already know about his concert tomorrow anyway. Shoshana's next BWAC show opens Saturday in Red Hook; this time she's showing works on paper instead of her usual reverse paintings on clear plexiglas.

Next month we'll spend a week in Maine (after we celebrate my MIL's 75th birthday in CT). From central CT we'll drive up to Camden, ME and spend 3 nights there, and then we'll drive down to Portland and spend three more nights there after which we'll drive home to Brooklyn. We're looking forward to it.

Our New Years Day/Shoshana's 50th Birthday on the Jewish Calendar party was a success; 25 friends celebrated with us. After the last guests left we cleaned up and went on-line where we found regrets emails from another half dozen friends. During the party we spent most of the time being hosts: introducing people, trying make sure that none of our friends felt neglected (especially those who didn't know most of the others), refilling food bowls and opening wine bottles, which prevented us from getting into long conversations. There were quite a few friends whom we didn't get to talk with at all, which we regret. Although we specified "no gifts" Shoshana received some nice presents anyway.

Last night we went to our friend Bella's for Shabbat dinner. We planned to drive, but the car would not start (needs a new alternator) so we took the bus. There were nine of us including Bella who served borscht, gefilte fish, salad, beet greens, winter squash, tofurkey, and stuffing. It felt like Thanksgiving. And when we thought we could not eat another bite Bella brought out a birthday cake for Shoshana along with chocolate babka and rugelach. Two other guests gave us a ride home. It was a very pleasant evening. I didn't get to bed until quarter after 2 a.m. We slept late and didn't go to shul. This morning our mechanic made a house call, started our car with a jump start, and his assistant drove it to the repair shop. We'll pick it up on Monday.

Shoshana now has her own facebook, and thanks to Friend Feed most of what I post here she can see there. Even Sasson is on web 2.0 (he's got his own flickr set).

My wife Shoshana Cooper will have two paintings exhibited in the BWAC Fall Show and an additional painting in the charity auction. Her two paintings are previewed on-line in this earlier LJ post.

Of course digital reproductions do not do justice to Shoshana's paintings which will be exhibited on one of the smaller hanging panels on the south wall of the second upstairs room.

The exhibit is across the street from the Fairway supermarket in the same Red Hook, Brooklyn pier as before. 9/13-10/26 weekends only, 1-6 pm. For more info see BWAC's website.
